    Pasco County students return to school on August 24th.

    Here's some information that will make that transition a little easier:

    • Are your child's immunizations up-to-date? You can get free immunizations at the health department or call 727-861-5250 to find the health department location near you.
    • Need help with school supplies? Several churches and other organizations are providing free clothes, school supplies and more. Call 211 to find out where.

    What about my preschooler?
    Florida has a free voluntary pre-kindergarten (VPK) program for children who turn 4 years old by September 1, 2009. To learn more about this program check out the VPK website or call 1-866-357-3239. You can learn more by contacting the Early Learning Coalition of Pasco/Hernando or call (866) 797-9444.



    The Pasco County Library System staff can help you find the information you need to enroll your child in school and assist your child with their school work. Two library locations have Homework Help Centers (Land O Lakes and Hudson Libraries). You or your child can receive homework help online via the library's Ask a Librarian service Sunday through Thursday 10am to Midnight E.S.T. , Friday and Saturday 10am to 5pm E.S.T.

  • Pasco County's Most Wanted and Unsolved Cases




    Yearning to know about unsolved cases and people wanted by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office?


    Check out the Pasco County Sheriff's website. On the left side there are links "Most Wanted" and "Unsolved Cases."


    When you choose the "Most Wanted" link you'll see mug shots of people wanted on warrants. The "Unsolved Cases" link provides a list of victims names, date of the crime, location of the crime along with short description of the incident.


    The Pasco Sheriff's Office reminds you to "Take no action yourself to apprehend these fugitives"

  • Pasco County Weather Alert- July 1, 2009

    New Port Richey, Fla.,-- Heavy rains Wednesday morning caused flooding in the Port Richey neighborhood of Gulf Highlands. Pasco County emergency officials arrived on scene at 6:45 a.m. and directed residents who needed to leave their homes to a shelter at Saint Marks Presbyterian Church located east of US 19 on SR 52.

    Flooding in the neighborhood is approximately in a 10-block radius ranging from the intersection of Zimmerman and Ranch roads. A half a dozen residents have been directed to the shelter and no injuries have been reported. Water has surrounded a number of homes and is standing in some residences. Some streets are flooded and residents are advised not to drive through standing water. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the entire Tampa Bay Area until 11:45 a.m.

    Pasco County Fire Rescue is one of a number of agencies on scene. Fire-Rescue personnel are going home-to-home in order assist citizens and access any further property damage.
