Digital TV Coming Soon

On February 17, 2009 all full-power broadcast television stations in the United States will stop broadcasting on analog airwaves and begin broadcasting only in digital. Digital broadcasting will allow stations to offer improved picture and sound quality and additional channels. To learn more check out the FCC Digital TV Transition website.

If you currently rely on an antenna and don't want to pay to watch television you will need to obtain a digital to analog converter box.

Between Jan. 1, 2008, and March 31, 2009, all U.S. households will be eligible to request up to two coupons, worth $40 each, to be used toward the purchase of up to two, digital-to-analog converter boxes. To obtain the coupon go to the TV Converter Box Coupon website.

Several branches of the Pasco County Public Library System are hosting information sessions about digital TV. For more information check out the library's Calendar of Events or call the library 727.861.3040.
