Green Jobs Coming to Florida?

Florida has received a $1.25 million dollar American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant to help the state develop green jobs. The grant funds are to be used to identify and classify the number of green jobs in the state and the skills needed to fill those jobs. The Agency for Workforce Innovation will work with companies on designing training programs to meet the needs of the emerging green economy.

While Florida has received these funds, Pasco County has adopted a new strategic plan. Two related goals of the strategic plan are to protect the environment and to encourage job and economic growth. Sounds like Pasco County government is establishing a favorable climate for green businesses in Pasco County. The County government is working closely with the Pasco Economic Development Council, Inc. to foster business development in Pasco County.
